Sustaining emergency care

Östersund Hospital is located in a relatively remote part of Sweden with long distances to other hospitals with PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) capabilities. Its aging Cath-Lab equipment needed replacing, which risked disrupting the emergency care provided by the hospital. The nearest alternative facility was around 400km away at Umea University Hospital, which would have required transferring patients by plane or helicopter or a lengthy ambulance journey.

In collaboration with Philips, we deployed a temporary, relocatable Imaging Cath-Lab Solution. This trailer enabled the hospital to provide uninterrupted emergency care to its patients whilst managing the replacement of its old equipment.

By eliminating downtime and disruption, we enabled the hospital to maintain its high-quality coronary artery disease service and provide care to acute patients who required immediate attention.
